Using the EkaPad ergonomic keyboard is one of the best ways to reduce keyboarding stress.
The EkaPad's radically different and innovative design allows the user to work in unrestricted and relaxed positions. The EkaPad user benefits from improved comfort and increased productivity. Because the user's hand 'wraps' around the EkaPad, the fingers travel only short distances, allowing safe and easy keyboard action.
When pressing the keys of the EkaPad, the fingers follow a simple natural grasping action, minimizing risk of musculoskeletal injury.
Finger tip motion is in the range of 2 cm back and forth reaching keys, and 3 mm pressing keys. This is far less than the motion required on a conventional qwerty keyboard, where the hand itself must move substantial distances. When typing with a more or les horizontal keyboard the wrist, arm, shoulder and neck muscles are stressed; with the EkaPad, only the fingers move, and the arm can be in many comfortable positions, even moving around while chording.
Because the EkaPad hangs comfortably on a thumb it becomes one with the hand – eliminating pronation and encouraging hand relaxation. Mobility of upper body is encouraged as the EkaPad is not fixed to a flat surface.
To use the EkaPad requires only finger muscles, with no wrist pronation, minimizing extensor muscle or tendon use through the carpal tunnel. The EkaPad can be used in many body positions – sitting, lying down, standing, even lounging. There is no requirement to maintain the workstation positions required by conventional keyboards.

The EkaPad design utilizes the natural and comfortable positions of the fingers, hand, wrist, arms and shoulders. The same sort of friendly position as shaking hands.
